Ski Touring Sogndal/Jostedalen (Sign up now closed)

Long-weekend ski touring trip to Sogndal/Jostedalen. This trip is aimed at people with a intermediate/advanced knowledge and is not for beginners. You will need your own ski touring equipment, including a shovel, probe and beacon. (we might be able to bring extra avalanche gear to borrow, however, this needs to be arranged well before the trip)

The plan:

We will leave from Oslo on Thursday 19. feb and drive up to Jostedal Camping, where we will stay for the weekend. We will go ski touring Friday, Saturday and Sunday, before driving back down to Oslo Sunday afternoon.

There are limited spots on the trip and signing up does not guarantee you a spot as there might be more people signing up than we have room for. We will consider everyone that signs up and contact those that get a spot before the trip.

Ski touring/Backcountry skiing is an inherently risky activity. Participants makes their own choices of being in the mountain in winter, with all the risks entailed, such as cold temperatures, difficult terrain, falling, crashing, and avalanche dangers. We do not limit participants from venturing into terrain that's prone to avalanches, but will try to limit dangerous situations as much as we can. However, we are not educated guides or avalanche instructors, but merely students wanting to organize trips with others who're keen on skiing in the mountains.
