Fjellskitur around Skrimfjell

Join us for an overnight Fjellski trip to Sørmyrseter cabin next to Skrimfjell. 

The registration opens on Monday Jan 20th at 19:00. Registrations done before 19:00 will not be considered. Please know there is a limited number of spots available.

We plan to leave at 7 am on Saturday and drive towards Skrim (~1.5-2h). We then have 10 km of ski tracks with around 150m of altitude ahead of us before we arrive at the DNT cabin Sørmyrseter (at about 600 m). 

On Sunday we return via a partly different route (about 15km total), making a detour via Styggmann (at about 850 m) to hopefully catch a glimpse of Gaustatoppen in the far far distance, before heading back to the car and driving back to Oslo. 

Experience required
This is an overnight backcountry trip (not skitouring!) so it is required that you have previous skiing experience. Fjellski are similar to cross-country skis but made for the backcountry so that they don't require tracks. Cross-country skiing experience is sufficient!

Equipment
Keep in mind that you need to arrange the skiing equipment yourself (either by borrowing equipment from Friluft or Bua).  

Food
Dinner on Saturday is arranged by Friluft. Please make sure to let us know by email (as soon as you sign up) in case you have allergies. Also be aware that you will need to leave some space in your backpack to carry some of the ingredients.

Please bring your own bed linen or thin linen sleeping bag. The cabin provides duvets and woolen blankets. It is also equipped with a gas stove, a wood stove for heating, and kitchen equipment. Water has to be ‘collected’ outside (melt the snow). Bring enough water in case you don’t feel comfortable drinking it. 

 Price
 For DNT UNG (Youth) members the price is NOK 300, for youth non-members (until incl 25 years) or DNT members above 25 it is NOK 400, for non-members above 25 it is NOK 565. For anyone who can provide a car it is NOK 100. E-mail jennz.eder@gmail.com when signing up in case you can provide a car!

Fjellski skiing equipment (skis, shoes, poles, glasses/googles)

Clothes: woolen underwear, woolen socks (a spare pair too!), woolen sweater, pants for cross country, rain and wind jacket, hat, neckerchief, gloves, underwear

Toiletries 

Bed linen/Thin linen sleeping bag

Headlamp & Batteries

Thermos for tea/soup

Breakfast & Lunch for Saturday & Sunday, Snacks

After signing up you will receive a confirmation and an invitation to pay. Please do so within 24 hours of signing up. If not, your spot will be given to someone else.
